Three new windows
have been fitted in the main hall. The
windows have been funded purely from our fund raising activities and
we are extremely grateful to all who have supported those events
by helping and buying.
The windows have been custom made by Acacia Joinery of Bridgend.
They are made in the original style to retain the outer appearance
of our Grade II listed building and have been approved by the BCBC
Conservation Officer. The windows are constructed of a hard wood
with opening sashes to enable us to maintain good ventilation in
the hall, assisting the aim of achieving good air quality.
There are a further 9 windows to replace within the building.
This will require a considerable sum of money and we will tackle
the task a few windows at a time as and when funds allow. The Committee
will therefore plough on with fund raising events, and are seeking National Lottery Community funding, our aim being
to maintain the beautiful Cliff Cottage for the use of the Gardening
Club and that of the local Community. |
